You are absolutely correct. I sometimes write about my own life as well. Howver, I am an extreme outlier, as is everybody in my family, and like you, I'm a world traveler. I'm also a life-long learner, etc.

Unfortunately, most people dont' live lives like that. If you read through the myriad of articles, they are talking about how they wrote 20 words today, and how they make fish and chips for dinner.

Also, even so, unless one is truly wrapped up in other people's lives (through, perhaps of having an interesting life oneself), readers are generally iinterested in more than the details of a person's life.

My best articles are not about myself, although I admit it is my opinions and my view points that keep people reading. My best articles are about the world around us. :)
