He's not on the spectrum. Those of us that are on the spectrum do not like constantly interacting with others. We are loners. We are deeply involved in one or two or three interests. For instance, I'm nuts about old buildings, systems (economic, politica., social), and making things beautiful. I have very little interest in promoting myself.

That is standard for people with autism, and I know a good few of them.
