Here's my view on the 'top writer' nonsense. I've been a 'top writer' in so many categories that I wouldn't be able to count them. All it means is that you put the appropriate tag in the 'change tags' box.
So if you keep putting 'politics' and you write 10 articles a week, you will be a top writer in politics. That's it. It doesn't mean you are a good writer, or anything like that.
For the rest, this is a content writing site. The idea that all writers should get paid is bizarre. Publishers only pay for articles they want. Just because someone writes something and publishes it on a publishing platform doesn't mean that they're entitled to payment. They weren't hired to write the article, and the odds of the article making any money for the compan y are precisely zilch.
