For more than a decade, I've been writing that the only way we can defeat climate change is:

1. Collectively live minimalist lives - high tech, few possessions.

2. Completely eradicate personal ownership of cars and invest in massive public transport.

3. Stop importing and exporting. Each country must adapt and provide what it can for itself.
