Except that this is a deadly virus that may well morph into the worst of the worst and kill a third of humanity. That is not farfetched. It has already morphed considerably. And the more people it infects, the more it will morph. And then the vaccination will be useless.

The reason it won't go away for a very long time is because there are people out there who won't war masks, who won't get vaccinated, etc. And they will infect others and allow the virus to keep adapting.

So, no, it's not an argument for the removal of restrictions. It's an argument for restrictions to remain because it's going to be extremely difficult to eradicate it. And nobody will be safe.

It's nowhere near a 'new flu.'
