Emotion is secondary to intellect, and I do not for one moment believe that emotions should govern us. Emotions do not make good decisions - they can be filled with good intentions for one minute and then dissolve in a fit of jealousy and resentment the next.

We need intellecct and reasoning in order to make wise decisions. The idea that love will solve it all is, to my mind, naive. Humanity isn't capable of it.
