Disagree.

We did not have the means to destroy ourselves at the end of WWII. Nor was the planet suffering from climate change, etc. Nor did we have the population numbers we have now. We had 2 billion people on the planet in 1945. Now we have just on 8 billion.

Also, the British Empire ran things - not the Americans. There's one helluve difference in culture, and it was very different in those days (if racist).

There are now factors that simply were not around at the end of WWII. The people were different. They weren't 'chasing their dreams.' Narcissism hadn't become a way of life.

I do believe the world is doomed. I don't think we stand a rat's chance. I think the ignorance of the masses and the greed of the rich will collectively kill us.

Sure, small pockets of humankind may survive, but civilisation will be gone.

I am not alone in that assessment. Many of the world's top scientists have reached the same conclusion.
