Depends where you shop. Trader Joe's has great food. Wholefoods used to but was then taken over by Bezos the Bozo. Buying food in other countries is very difficult when you are looking for organic food without corn syrup, etc.

My point about America is that the variety is incredible. I cannot find hemp flour in Portugal. It doesn't exist. All they have in the shops are cafes. Both in Germany and in Portugal, virtually everything is wheat based.

Perhaps it was the place I lived in in Scotland, but all the food had a mass of chemicals (Argyle and Bute).

Also, if you want to go out and eat, the variety is endless. Initially I thought the food in America was really bad, but after I had been living there for a while, I discovered it was more about knowing where to buy. It was available.

With regard to Scotland, I'd go back but for two things - it's no longer part of the EU (and I'm an EU citizen) and it's also very expensive.
