Depends on tbe extent of the person’s intelligence. That said, I can certainly write about anything. Being a good writer has nothing to do with one’s expertise in a certain topic. Being a brain surgeon doesn’t mean that one is a good writer.

Good writers tend to be highly intelligent. There was an article some years back that said that the author’s who tended to be international bestsellers were all gifted.

Also, there are a good few authors who write different genres under different pen names.

I also think creative writing is a talent. One doesn’t ‘master’ it. One can either write or not. Creative writing has nothing to do with basic literacy.
