But what you're not familiar with is the fact that no other country taxes its citizens when they live and work in another country. I'ma dual South African/German citizen, and have lived and worked in the USA, England, Scotland, South Africa, Lesotho, Spain, and now Portugal. And, sorry, I do know, despite not being an attorney.
Being a US lawyer might make you familiar with American law, but it absolutely and utterly does not make you familiar with laws in other countries. America is the only country in the world that taxes its citizens when they live in another country.
I have lived in multiple countries. Neither South AFrica nor Germany have ever taxed me on my salary that I earned in another country.
So please give me the piece where it says that the legislation works both ways.
