Brain Overload is a Thing

This is especially so if you’re on the autistic spectrum. Introverts also tend to overload more quickly.

I’m very familiar with brain overload, thought at one point in my life, I never knew that it existed. The first time I heard the term was while I was working for a publisher in Johannesburg, South Africa. This guy told me that he didn’t read. I was quite astounded.

“Why not?” I asked.

“Because there is so much information now that I get brain overload.” He then proceeded to explain to me that the brain needed to rest, and if it couldn’t rest, then some sort of burn out process happens.

Autism and overload

During the past few years, I’ve read quite a bit autism, and there are some interesting facts emerging. I’m going to list three factors that contribute to overload.

  • A person with autism will be exhausted after three or four hours of brain stimulation.
  • People with autism fall into two categories — those with too few synapses, and those with too many synapses. The brain sends information via the synapses.
  • There are certain substances that clear the brain. People with autism have too little of this substance, so their brains take a lot…
