Becauss Christian evangelical pastors tend to be stupid, ignorant conmen who found out that if they preached Jesus, they could make money out of it.

They deny climate change because they don't understand it, and their non-existant god didn't predict it, so it can't be true.

And their equally uneducated congregation believes them.
