Because I paid to read here. When I started out, many mainstream magazines published here. The last one, The Atlantic' closed its doors on Medium at the end of October.

The frustration of having to read stuff for an eight year old mind is not something I am patient with. Until 18 months ago, the focus was on good reading, not on getting as many wannabe writers to join Medium.

The biggest complaint that the new CEO has received from all sides is the poor quality of writing on Medium. It seems to be deteriorating more each day.

Why do I try to point out the standard that people should attain as a writer? Hopefully so that some would get the message.

I did make a decision today though. I am not reading here anymore.
