Because I had no idea what men were about. Once, for a period of 18 months, I had a different date every night. My phone never stopped ringing.

I went to an all girls boarding school - very strict, and so I was on my best behaviour when I went on a date . I never said a word to my date. I kept quiet all evening. It never occurred to me to question that.

There was always someone asking me out.

I have Asperger's syndrome. There was a lot I misunderstood. It had nothing to do with a lack of confidence.

For the record, even now at 72, men are still attracted to me.
