Barbara Cartland was the mother of Diana's stepmother. She said she was always worried about Diana because she believed in fairy tales - she was naive, and she wanted to marry a prince.

I think like many people who believe fairy tales, she expected Charles to act like all the princes in the books she read.

I would also love to know what her stepmother thought of her.
