You can't force someone to read something because you want them to read for a longer period. Readers know how to recognize bullarkey when they see it.

As for writing newspaper style, if you only have one or two facts, then, yes, you're going to struggle. The point of research is that you have 30 or 40 facts, and that your article is data dense. That is how you keep the reader reading.
