Also, these generations were created by the advertising industries to find common areas to market to them. They wouldn't have been (and are) effective) if they didn't work.
As an elderly person, I see young people rolling their eyes, remain seated on the bus, don't allow me through the door way first, etc. I used to do those things for my seniors. Doesn't happen anymore. And, yes, they did do away with those things.
As for climate change. Yes, they knew bout it, and they did nothing about it. I did not see them stop driving cars. I did not see them be concerned about the environment. I did not see Americans stop using aircon.
I know that, because my footprint was 10% of what the average American was when I lived in the States. It has always been that. I live with the least I can. I have watched my generation, listened to them, and they are takers - all the way.
Baby boomers did not build massive public transport systems. They did not get rid of their cars. They did not derail capitalism. Humanity has known about climate change since the end of the 19th century. Nobody, including the baby boomers, when it was first publicized, did anything about it.
