All human beings (except for autistic people) use the brain in a top down fashion. Autistic people use it in a bottom up fashion. So someone who is autistic would look at every small bit of information before they made a decision.

Neurotypical people don't do this. It's too time consuming. They make snap judgements, and they make those decisions based on previous experiencers - either of their own or by others. This is an evolved survival mechanism.

I tried to explain to you that people don't have the time to get to know everybody who comes their way. For some reason, that doesn't make sense to you. When people have hundreds of people in their lives, and when they have very busy schedules, they make snap decisions on situations.

When one sees someone with a gun, even though the majoirty of people who own a gun won't shoot someone, it would be foolish to take the chance and first get to know the person if they took that gun out in a public space. They would defer to survival instinct - get out of the way.

I'm sorry you started calling people who dfidn't agree with you misanthropes. I was shocked.

In fact, why would you think that I write dystopian stuff in order to get followers? I have never been desperate for readers. I am not a newbie writer. I am not trying to build up a readership on Medium. I actually don't care if people read my stuff or not - I have said repeatedly that I only write to earn a living.

If I don't earn a living here, I will write somewhere else. I will go back to print. I will contact previous clients. I will contact agencies for work. After all, I have a 60 year track record of publication. I most certainly don't need to present dystopian articles in order to gain a readership.

In fact, the opposite works better. One person on Medium tells newbies how wonderful they are, and gives them all sorts of bad writing advice They don't realize it's bad.. He has made a fortune like that. Those of us who are professional writers realize he is flattering them in order to get readership.
