Actually, I dont' speak German. I'm a German citizen because my late father was a German Jew, and after he passed in 1984, I applied for German citizenship. I got it on the basis that all descendents of German Jews are permitted immediate German citizenship.

And while I'm aware of the fact that under certain circumstances I can apply for US citizenship, I only became aware of that ater I decided I absolutely and uttelry did not want to live in the US anymore. It was a failed experiment on my part.

Also, because I was not born in Germany, and because I was naturalized, it might not have applied. I am not American. I am dual South African/German. And I immigrated to the States. I also left because I just couldn't cut it there. It wasn't what I thought.
