Actually, I did google it. You'd have to look hard to find it. Maybe it's hidden in someone's essay somewhere, but it certainly isn't a term in common usage, and it certainly isn't a term that is academically well known.
The closest I came was maladaptive by-product hypothesis.
Note that it says HYPOTHESIS. In other words, it isn't a theory. To put it even more simply, it is not accepted as fact, and it's just someone's idea - not proven.
Even there, there is no such thing as maladaptive evolutionary beliefs.
