Actually, 99% of humanity is incapable of any deep thought. It has nothing to do with laziness. Thinking is an involuntary activity. One cannot switch one's brain on or off - no more than one can switch off one's heart or kidneys. These things work automatically.

Fascism also appeals to people who think a lot. If you think that Putin isn't a thinker, you're highly mistaken. Fascism appeals to people who can't get the things they want done through democracy.
