Absolutely. Someone (whom I respect) told me that the economy was fine - it was just that uneducated people didn't understand what an economy was. When I asked how it was that 40% of Americans were struggling to survive, how was the economy fine, I received no answer.

I think a great part of the problem is that the Democratic Party has been usurped by the professional classes who basically have no financial probems, but have plenty of emotional problems.
