About 15,000 people have read this article, and generally people my age agreed with what I said. They had learnt the same things. So I don't know why you should think it's negative.

I found school incredibly boring, and the only useful things I learnt were reading, writing, and arithmetic. After school, I did a typing course and learnt to type at 100 wpm. That has also proved very helpful throughout my life.

There are certainly people out there who have very little general knowledge - I'm not one of them. Books, travel, life experience teach one a lot.
