A long time ago, a study showed that the faster you read, the more you retained the information. I read about 500 pages an hour. Or I used to in my youth. Now my eyes give me problems.

I still read a book a day, though, just not as fast as I used to.

Thinking is an involuntary activity. One cannot learn to think. Reading more slowly does not necessarily make you think more.

Why do I have to clap when I read you? It doesn't earn you any money. And you shouldn't have to ask for applause.
