1. Click on the publication and see when the last story was published. You might not be able to find it. Then it has closed. However, if it isn't publishing, it means the owners aren't about.

2. You can remove your story from a publication. I removed all my stories from publications more than a year ago. I opened by own publications, and I only write for my own publications. Everything I write goes into one of my publications. That's when I started earning. If you go to edit, you should be able to see something that says, 'Leave publication." Your article will then go to your own stream.

3. I haven't been curated since December. I still make rent. Curation never did anything for me. Progress was slow, and the few new readers I got didn't actually increase my income. I have a publication called 'Born to Write.' I no longer write in it. There is only so much advice one can give about writing. However, there is an article somewhere about why you should open your own publications.

I am not part of the community of writers. :) Rather I've been earning my living as a writer for many decades. :)
